I think the Putty Road would be fine with a caravan. Exercise caution and follow directions of emergency services in the area as conditions can change quickly. Travellers in NSW are still facing plenty of road closures despite most of the state no longer being in the grips of “catastrophic” fire danger. We are driving the east coast in September and after staying in the blue mountains ( katoomba) our next stay is diamond waters, Camden Haven and we are thinking of doing the scenic route and driving the putty road, is it worth the detour or would anyone advise otherwise?
