The second week of January is expected to be relatively warm and sunny, so extensive melting will start, especially at mid elevations. Although the high country currently has its deepest snow accumulation in almost four years, since March 2019, this winter nevertheless remains well below the average for snowfall in the San Jacinto mountains to late January.
