Sidetracked by the perpetrator, standard procedure, cultural and heritage, past experiences in murder cases makes for reading lengthy confused thoughts and feelings of getting nowhere.Book was in good shape. This is an excellent book on several levels. The geographical division … BUT...the spline was slanted and not straight as the seller claimed. In fact, I looked forward to reading this book and enjoyed it. In this collection of short stories, written over several years in the 1990s, Mankell fills in Wallander’s past, explains how he became the meticulous and dedicated detective we know from the other Wallander novels. In the title above it says it's number five, so who knows?Mankell is the best Swedish crime procedural writer in the market today. It is more a duel than a narrative of detection. Wallander figures it’s related to Håkan’s disappearance. If you haven't met police detective Kurt Wallander yet, read Mankell. His stories are excellent, and the writing is very good. Wallander is “one of the most impressive creations in crime fiction today…. This review of Young Wallander is spoiler-free. Not that it’s any good as a crime drama either.You can blame some lapses in logic for that, and a dramatically inert script that patronizes its audience with inelegant exposition and two-dimensional characters. The best of them is his new granddaughter, Klara, born during the course of this book to Wallander’s unmarried daughter, Linda (who is also on a police force), and Hans von Enke, a financier.

We are covering thisDisney, and thus Disney+, is a family thing. Mankell does a great job weaving the story from multiple viewpoints and really keeps the reader engrossed. Mankell draws the reader into the complex mind of a serial killer, allowing for a deep understanding of both the "hunted" and the "hunter". Having invited himself to Modin’s home, he pads around it in the middle of the night, opening drawers and a wardrobe, revealing secrets she would rather were kept hidden. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It is well written and gripping. I'm also a fan of the British television series so it's fun to compare and contrast the novels. It is more a duel than a narrative of detection.
